BART (2023)

BART (2023)

BART is a part of an interactive sculptural piece that considers the archival nature of video as a performance. The film was created to be sealed inside

a CD case that the viewer

has to force open to watch. The case and the film are designed as a diary with a uncredited creator.

Stylistic video compressing and rudimentary materials evoke a feeling of intimacy with that of a child’s view of the world. This film was

a part of the Stick and Bindle screening at the dirt palace in 2023.

BART belongs to a sculptural piece that was created to be interacted with. The film lives on a CD inside a sealed case that the viewer has to break

open. The film is a diary that belongs to an unknown 11 year old who needed to hide the disc from Bart.

The film is aesthetically designed to fit this narrative. Stylistic video compressing and rudimentary materials create a feeling of intimacy with the world of the film.

PAWPAW (2023)

PAWPAW is a film about the Paw Paw tree. It’s pollinated by flies and farmed by draping the branches with meat. The film is about transformation and effects of its growth. It is made using materials that change: shot video, xerox printing, hand drawn animation, physical film edited on a Steinbeck, and using 3D modeling.

GUMGUM (2022)

GUMGUM is a personal film about being stuck inside

a body you can’t find a home in. The story follows gumgum as they refuse to

be digested in a body that’s only function is

to eat. The film is an allegory for trans bodies and the discomfort of not having a home. It was made using found footage and hand drawn animation.

Immortal Monkey (2022)

Immortal Monkey is a short animation about the secrets of music. This film is a character driven film about the drive to create and the want to be remembered.

Track (2023)

This piece is made to be seen at large scale as part of an installation. The figures on the field are all recordings of me doing laps around and across a football field. It was made using compositing in Adobe Premiere. The film is made from a singular clip that’s been looped and edited to look seamless.

Homebase (2024)

Homebase is my senior project from the Film, Animation, Video department at RISD. It’s a five minute film about the pressure to prove yourself as a boy and understanding what it means to be different. This piece brings together many techniques including compositing and hand drawn animation overlapping video and an experimental narrative.
